Differentiation

Expand the discussion to consider inputs, processes, outputs, and storage in a variety of computerised contexts (e.g. smatrphones, tablets, etc.)

Let ākonga get creative with their string text within the print command function.

Extension

Challenge ākonga to identify unique details about our code so far. What can they tell about how brackets (), quotes ””, and hastags # have been used?

Guide learners to move on to the next lessons of the Python I unit.

About Activity

These two lessons help introduce the Python computer programming lessons at the most basic level to ākonga of almost any age.

Learners will learn about fundamental aspects of programs, programming languages, and how to access and work with Python. They will then be challenged to use a simple ‘print’ function to display text by demonstrating how to input a string, process it with a command, and output a line of text.
